Danny Porter, District Attorney

Danny Porter graduated from the UGA School of Law in 1981 and began his legal career with the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office. He was elected as Gwinnett District Attorney in 1992. Danny created a Special Victims Unit, helped lead a massive sting operation against child predators in 2017, and started a Survivors of Homicide support group. He also helped create an accountability court as an alternative to jail for low-level drug offenses and those who need mental health treatment, and started a pre-trial diversion program for non-violent felonies.

Lou Solis - Gwinnett County Sheriff

Lou Solis is a retired US Army Ranger. Throughout his life, he has worked in a variety of ways to contribute to his community. He has served with the Marietta Police Department, as the Assistant Police Chief for the Braselton Police Department, and as the Chief Deputy of Operations for the Gwinnett Sheriff's Department. Lou was a member of the Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange Delegation and is a member of the Georgia Board of Corrections. Lou and his wife, Kathy, have been married for 31 years and lived in Gwinnett County for 21 years.
