Lou Solis is a retired US Army Ranger. Throughout his life, he has worked in a variety of ways to contribute to his community. He has served with the Marietta Police Department, as the Assistant Police Chief for the Braselton Police Department, and as the Chief Deputy of Operations for the Gwinnett Sheriff's Department.

Lou was a member of the Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange Delegation and is a member of the Georgia Board of Corrections.

Lou and his wife, Kathy, have been married for 31 years and lived in Gwinnett County for 21 years.
