Timothy Barr was born and raised in Northeast Georgia on a small farm, where he learned responsibility and the importance of hard work. In 2005, Timothy started his own construction company.

Timothy and his wife Melinda have served faithfully in their church over the years. Timothy is on the deacon board and serves on several other nonprofit boards. He and Melinda have four children. They enjoy many outdoor activities, including camping, hiking, and being on the water.

Timothy was first elected to the Georgia State House in 2012.
