Eric Dierks grew up in Georgia and has lived in Gwinnett since 1987. He is a 1984 graduate of Georgia State University. In 1990, he graduated with the 161st Session of the FBI National Academy.

Eric's security career includes 20 years with the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Department and the Georgia Department of Public Safety POST Council. At POST, he was as the Director of Investigations, investigating police misconduct statewide.

Since his 2017 retirement, he has been a Court Appointed Special Advocate in the Juvenile Court, and mentored children with the Path Project in Lawrenceville.
